Espresso To-Go _ two, unedited
The very next day, a slug pushed its way across her terrace. They're back for your plants again! Her father held his green thumb toward their prized inner-city tomato garden. Who's back? She asked and shook her hair free of a sleek drying fabric. The slugs. He said. The young woman stepped over to the kitchen window beside him and groaned. Oh, no - Dad! I thought you got rid of 'em last week. Mhm. He took another sip of his coffee and studied the tomato leaves as she kissed him goodbye. She picked up his messy newspaper roll and headed for the door. I'm working late tonight, will call you in the morning! She yelled and waved goodbye before slamming the door shut. ~ Later, that evening ~ One of the girls flashed a suspecting eye at her while applying makeup. Okay, so tell us what happened yesterday @ the timeshare update. She said from the rearview mirror. Yea, the other girls chimed. You guys! She wined. I don't want to jinx a potentially career-altering move right now. They looked at each other and laughed. She folded her hands, let's just make it everyone's big surprise. That's not possible! One of the women said. Hea, this guy's going to ask me about every minor detail the very minute that we walk in there. That new shareholder hasn't stopped calling me with a million questions since you made the "new" suggestion too. Still another complained. Okay, okay - I can't give any details but I will say this - One woman cleared her throat as the other women attentively leaned in to listen.♡MB☕
